Women & Type

While completing my Master of Arts in Advertising at SCAD Atlanta, I was tasked to create a book that highlights Neenah Paper’s, paper samples. While researching content, I found that female typographers are highly underrepresented in print. This four-part book series was created with the hope of changing that. The first book gives a brief history of women in typography, the second on Elizabeth Friedlander of Penguin Books, the third on Carol Twombly of Adobe, and the fourth on Zuzana Licko of Emigre. My goal was to not only showcase the aesthetic and sensorial effects of the paper, but to also celebrate women in typography and the impact they’ve made on the industry as a whole. This project won a local, district, and regional ADDY award.
